Description

Circa 1840. Classical astylar commercial and domestic
building currently (1988) being extensively renovated,
interior gutted. 3-storeys, 9-bays arranged 1-8-1, with
wider end bays shallow recessed. Polished ashlar,
painted to ground.
Pend to end bays, depressed arched to right.
Shopfronts to ground, that to left altered, that to right
round-arched and glazed. above ground, end bays have
tripartites, otherwise single light, all architraved
(except 2nd floor outer bays). 1st floor inner bays
pedimented, end bays corniced. Formerly with sash and
case windows with 4-pane glazing, original glazing
removed 1988. Eaves band, eaves cornice, parapet over
inner bays.
