Circa 1823. Classical 3-storey and basement terrace block.
21 bays arranged in groups of 3 with outer bays raised
and breaking forward to form pavilions. Polished ashlar
channelled at ground floor with voussoirs above openings,
painted at elevation to Douglas Street. Distyle Ionic
porticos, altered at No 20, in end sections; Ionic
pilastered, pedimented doorpiece to No 108 Douglas Street;
all entries at Blythswood Square at head of stone stair
oversailing basement area. Basement band course, 1st floor
cill band. Windows mainly sash and case with 12 or 4-pane
glazing; ground floor openings in recessed arches, windows
with moulded cills and aprons; 1st floor windows
architraved corniced, in end sections consoled; 2nd floor
plain architraves. Eaves cornice, blocking course. Cast-
iron railings.
3-bay return to Blythswood Street with rising basement in
slope of land; repeats main elevation detailing.
8-bay return to Douglas Street, 2nd bay from south blind.
2 splayed corniced. Wallhead stacks.
Interior: some cast-iron street balusters remain.
