Circa 1845. 4-storey classical tenement with shops.
Polished ashlar. All windows sash and case, architraved;
corniced at 1st and 2nd floors, mainly 12-pane glazing.
Continuous mutule cornice.
ELEVATION TO SAUCHIEHALL STREET: 30 bays in 3 sections,
8-14-8, attic in last 4 bays in E section. Recessed
Doric pilastered close entries with fanlights at Nos
271, 281 and 303. Late 19th century shopfront with
column glazing bars at No 305. 1st floor cornice. Cill
band at 3rd floor. Central stacks.
ELEVATION TO PITT STREET: 10 bays, 2nd and 3rd bay from
N blind. Ground floor: 2 close entries breaking forward
with cornice, 2 windows to right of No 192, 1 window to
left of No 198, and 1 entry altered from original window.
Upper windows symmetrically arranged, repeating
Sauchiehall Street elevation pattern.
ELEVATION TO DOUGLAS STREET: 10 bays in 2 sections, 5-5,
2nd and 3rd bays from E blind. 2 dentil corniced
shopfronts. Similar window arrangement to Pitt
Street. 3 wallhead stacks.
