Description

Late 19th century. Large Scots baronial 2-storey villa,
3-storey square tower central on (W) entrance front with
bartizans and iron-crested steep French roof; elaborate
pilastered doorcase, canted and crenellated ground floor
windows either side. Stugged and snecked red ashlar,
polished dressings, windows mainly sashes, green slate
roofs. Rear wing fronts Hamilton Avenue.
Moulded ball-finialed gatepiers, good wrought-iron gates
with art nouveau ornament.
