John Burnet Snr 1857. 3 storey and basement ashlar renaissance detailed bank. 3-by 5-bay with curved 3-bay corner. Channelled pilasters rising through 1st and 2nd define main blocks. Ground floor channelled, 2 Ionic columned doorpieces, tripartite window in each elevation, continued in upper floors to Carlton Place and S bay to Bridge Street.
Modernised shop at S. Consoled and corniced 1st floor windows with cast-iron plant boxes. Band course with discs over 1st floor. 2nd floor plain windows with those on corner set behind engaged paired colonnade. Main cornice, die balustrade, tripartite attic window. Corner crowned by shield of Bank of Scotland with cornucopia and supported by 2 female statues. Long banks of stacks.
Interior: plaster cornice and some capitals survive.
