Description

Pribably Hugh H Maclure. Pair school blocks fronting road, each 2 storeys and similarly detailed and each entered on flank; stone-cleaned snecked ashlar; slate roofs with bracketted eaves; original glazing, 1st floor windows in round-arched panels in advanced outer bays.

BLOCK TO RIGHT (E) dated 1878; belfry turret over one angle, pierced balconies/aprons between floors. Rear wing not original.

BLOCK TO LEFT is post-1878 and longer outer bays more deeply advanced and with gambrel roofs instead of gables. Forestair on W flank.

Iron-railed boundary wall to street, gatepiers with shaped caps.

Alterations and additions, 1889, by Charles H Robinson.
