ashlar Renaissance facade, with tetrastyle R-Ionic
portico and 146' spire. Church 1760: design for facade
supplied by Lord Cathcart (apparently obtained in Bristol):
designer of body of church apparently James Ewing,
builder: galleries, seating, Anderson and Watt; spire
1787 (the 1760 design slightly shortened).
