Circa 1896. 3-storey, 3-bay tenement. Red sandstone ashlar, slate roof. Corniced ground floor, moulded cill course to 1st and 2nd floors, corniced wallhead; pilastered centre bay with irregular curvilinear gable and stack to right side; single and bipartite architraved windows, corniced at 1st floor with bipartites to left and right pedimented, single window to 2nd floor centre pedimented and with cartouche in apron, originally sash and case glazing with plate glass to bottom and multi-pane to top, most now with out-of-character modern materials. Round-headed channelled doorcase to ground floor centre, modern shopfronts to left and right. INTERIOR: not seen
This building is stylistically similar to number 175-177 to the left, dated 1989 and number 183 to the right, dated 1896.
