Description

Later 19th century, loggia added 1900. 2-storey, symmetrical villa encircled by loggia to E and S elevations. Squared, stugged and snecked sandstone, ashlar dressings. Base course; raised margins; ashlar mullioned windows; bracketted cills; quoin strips; bracketted eaves.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: ashlar porch advanced to centre, parapet with urns on angle pedestals, porch partly enclosed by canted bay abutting to E, loggia adjoining entrance on S face. Single storey, lean-to loggia extending from porch around to S elevation supported on paired timber posts (many now replaced by concrete posts). Loggia raised to form round-arched entrance at porch. Bipartite window to centre at 1st floor, single windows flanking. Lower 2-storey, 2-bay service wing to right, doorway to right, bipartite window to left, 2 windows at 1st floor.

S ELEVATION: 3 bays. Tall tripartite window to centre at ground with cornice and urns on angle pedestals. Bipartite windows flanking, window to left altered to form French window. 3 windows at 1st floor. Loggia extending full-width of elevation with raised bay with round-arched entrance fronting tripartite window to centre.

Mostly plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced ashlar stacks, moulded cans.

LAMP STANDARD IN GARDEN: cast-iron lamp curved at top with foliate mouldings.
