Description

James Pearson Alison, 1899. Symmetrical 3-storey 3-bay house with shops and pend at ground. Cream stugged ashlar.

SW ELEVATION: base course, stop-chamfered polished ashlar piers and plain corniced entablature at ground; panelled door with rectangular fanlight giving access to upper floors at outer right; at centre 2 plate glass shop windows, divided horizontally, with flanking panelled split doors; wide pend to left. Upper floors identical; single window with chamfered arrises at centre, flanked by shallow full height timber canted bays (central windows bipartie) tile hung between floors. Overhanging eaves with exposed rafters. Coped wallheaded stack at centre with flared base and original octagonal cans. Grey slates.

Timber sash and case windows to upper floors; multi-pane upper sashes.
