Description

Irregularly shaped burial ground surrounded by coped rubble
wall. Main entrance at E, flanked by pair tooled ashlar
gatepiers with plain caps; pair of cast-iron carriage gates.
Interesting range of 17th, 18th and 19th century tombstones,
some of the earlier examples displaying rich carving and
inscriptions.

Statement of Interest

Site of church dedicated to St Malrubha (St Rufus),

superseded by present St Rufus church re-sited and re-built

1816-19.
