Circa 1790 with earlier 19th century addition to the east.
Original building 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Stucco
with black painted plinth, window and angle margins.
Central door with projecting porch composed of 4 Roman
Doric columns and 2 pilasters supporting an entablature
and blocking course. Later infil between columns. Flanking
tripartites with narrow outer lights. Quadrapartites flank
single light central window in 1st floor. 2 later canted
and gabled dormers. Cornice at eaves. Straight skews to
west, end stacks, slate roof.
Eastern addition: 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows; advanced
to street. Stucco with painted flush margins. Cornice, 2
later canted and gabled dormers. Straight skews, end
stacks, slate roof.
Assembly Room 1828-9 at rear: 2 storeys. Rubble with
ashlar quoins and droved dressings; ground floor and
margins painted. Hall on 1st floor with 4 large sash
windows. Altered entrance at ground. Piended slate roof.
Interior: Square coffered ceiling, gallery at north with
iron balustrade supported on 2 pilasters.
Formerly the New Inn. Assembly Room cost $2000.
