Late 18th century, doorpiece added post 1815. 3-storey, 5-bay house with classical detail, shops at ground. Rendered and lined as ashlar, painted to N elevation. Base course, moulded eaves course, cornice, quoins, raised margins, single and bipartite windows.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 5 asymmetrical bays; tall corniced and pilastered doorpice with stop-chamfered reveals to centre with modern fanlit door, fanlit doors to right and left with large shop windows to outer bays; 4 bays at 1st floor with 2 widely spaced windows to centre, bipartite windows to outer bays; 5 windows to 2nd floor, grouped 1-3-1 with window to centre blind, pediment above 3 centre bays with brick stack to apex.
S (REAR) ELEVATION: 3 asymmetrical bays.
Mostly plate glass sash and case windows with 12-pane to blind window. Grey slate roof with corniced stacks to gables.
Built in the 19th century for a Miss Henderson. Originally it consisted of 7 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a ballroom and a buffet. It was converted to shops early this century. Single storey stables to rear substantially altered.
