Earlier 18th century. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-bay house with
centre door. Rubble, tooled ashlar margins. Later gabled
porch masks centre door. Narrow windows, particularly in
centre 1st floor; modern glazing. Coped end stacks; slate
roof; stone ridge.
Later 18th century, 2-storey, 2-bay rear wing (no 24A) with
entrance in gable end; 2-pane glazing. Coped panelled end
stack; slate roof.
Lossiemouth harbour established in 1698 by Elgin Burgh on the
shore fronting 19-22 Clifton Road where there was a yet
earlier landing place. There was considerable expansion in the
18th century, and the area superseded as harbour after the
building of the basins at Stotfield Point in 1837-9.
No 24A appears as no 23 on OS.
