Circa 1700. Worn circular shaft mounted on later stepped
circular base

Statement of Interest

In 1698 the Burgh of Elgin feued ground from Brodie of Brodie

near mouth of River Lossie, built a harbour and established

settlement with square and market cross. Harbour subsequently

(1830) developed further seaward at Stotfield Point,

Branderburgh.
