Description

William Adam, 1737 and later. Belvedere in form of domed
arcaded rotunda. Modern harl, ashlar margins and dressings.
6 round-headed keystoned arches rising from continuous plinth
to form arcade; bandcourse at impost level; bandcourse and
cornice at wallhead; domed harled rubble roof capped by
renewed square facetted sandstone finial crowned by small
ball finial.

Commanding position on Hill of Doune overlooking Banff and

Banff House.

Commenced 1737 but still incomplete in 1743. Restored 1985-6.
