Description

1924, J H Langlands, Jnr. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay. L-plan villa; brick and harl, ashlar dressings; metal framed casement windows with top-hinge openings; slate piended roof.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay with further bay set back at W; oversailing entrance to 1st floor central door in keystoned and moulded architrave with prominent quoins, deep cornice rising to segmental hood with console supports, blocking course above, narrow flanking windows; bays to left and right with deep corniced eaves and integral rhones; bipartites in both floors, with cill course at 1st floor.

E ELEVATION: simply detailed with 2 widely spaced stacks, stepped at mid 1st floor level, with moulded copes and rubble dressings, breaking eaves.

S ELEVATION: twin, full-height canted windows in outer bays single ground floor central window. Central 5-light canted dormer with elliptical cornice.

W ELEVATION: large canted projection at N with angle corner windows, bisected on its W elevation by stack detailed as at E; porch at S re-entrant angle fronting door, (pier replaced), later addition above.

Iron railings to Hill Street in Mackmurdo style.
