Description

W R Davidson, 1906-7. Dated 1907 "Butterfly" plan house of 2

storeys and attic, with single storey and attic wing to north-

east. All harled with ashlar dressing.

Main "butterfly" facade has central advanced and gabled bay

rising 3 storeys with canted oriel with lozenge panel below at 1st floor, projecting as cantilevered hood to front door. asymmetrical north (garden) elevation with central entrance, recessed under wide semi-eliptical arch with low benches flanking door; small single

storey canted bay window to east; flat roofed dormers, two on

north elevation enlarged and having modern glazing. Multi-pane

sash and casement windows; rubble bands to all chimneys stalks; clustered chimney pots; deep eaves; bell-cast slate roof. Screen

wall to west, harled with stone cope and ball finials.

Built for H O Davidson Monogram set in lozenge stone panel

over main entrance; H & E D 1907.
