Description

Kinnear and Peddie, late 19th century. L-plan 2-storey former coach house, with 2nd breaking eaves. Squared, snecked sandstone with red ashlar dressings. Harling and half-timbering. Chamfered window arrises.

E ELEVATION: S wing with central fanlit door flanked by windows, inserted on conversion from coach house, and flanking tripartites at ground. 2 jettied gables, harled with applied timber framing, tripartites to left and right with single light off-centre. Right gable intercepted by lower N wing. Advanced gable of N wing with 2 deep arched stable windows and hayloft opening above, converted to doorway with metal staircase. Forestair added at W.

N ELEVATION: part gabled, simply detailed.

Sash and case windows; small-pane glazing to upper panels, 2-pane below. Small-pane casements. Painted timber barge boarding. Red tiled roofs. Louvred bell-cote on N ridge, finialled, with tiled apron and pyramidal roof. Moulded coping to ridge stacks of main block. Modern attic lights.

BOUNDARY WALL: to S. rubble-built.

Statement of Interest

Sub-divided into 3 flats. Former coach house to Glasclune (now demolished).
