Description

Wm Robin, monumental sculptor, Paisley 1867, executed from or adapted from a design by Alexander Thomson. Freestone obelisk about 17ft high, double stepped plinth, battered pedestal with cavetto cornice and inscriptions on all 4 faces, obelisk proper above with moulded base, bands of incised ornament bottom mid shaft and top: double line with anthemions above bottom and mid shaft, single line at top.

Statement of Interest

Main inscription: Erected/by public subscription/1867/to the memory of/Andrew Hardie and John Baird/who were executed at Stirling/and of/James Wilson/who was executed at Glasgow/in the year/1820.
