Description

Circa 1830. 2-storey. 8-bay former assembly rooms. Painted
ashlar. Ground floor modern shops with cornice over. Cill
band to 1st floor. Tall architraved and corniced sash
windows with blind tops and plate glass sashes below;
moulded panel over each cornice. Eaves band cornice with
stack at left. Slate roof.

Shown as Assembly rooms on Knox's revised 1839 plan.

Similar to Peter Nicholson's Coffee Room (1809) demolished

late 19th century.
