T G Abercrombie, architect: 1891 with later additions. Arts and Craft, 1 storey and attic L-plan house. Asymmetrical gabled elevations. Snecked stugged ashlar with polished dressings; some harl to south elevation. Variety of windows, including 1 mullioned and transomed curved across re-entrant angle and similar one board to centre of garden fronts. Swept gable descends to north. Scots Renaissance porch with parapet and copper dome. Extended east wing ends in tilehung gable
with vanants of "Sparrowes House" windows. Octagonal conservatory with ashlar lower courses and wooden colonnettes to angles, curved facetted roof with concave cupola. Ashlar gate piers with bronze nameplates ("Roneil") and convex screen walls.
Formerly called "Roneil". Built for John Robertson of marmalade fame.
