1886. 3-storey, sandstone tenement with end clocktower, on trapezoidal plan, with curved end bays at E end.
FRONT ELEVATION: modern pub: front at ground, cornice above fascia and 1st floor, cill and lintel bands, central 2-pane sash and case windows at 1st and 2nd floors, at 2nd with pilastered architrave flanked by blind oculi. Pediment with blind oculus, central window with round-headed pediment at base of slated pyramidal roof terminating in four-faced wooden clock stage woth ogee lead roof, octagonal cupola (also ogee roofed) and weathervane. Sides of pyramidal roof have glazed lucarnes. Turning corners to N and S elevations are curved tripartite windows, slightly set back, with pilasters.
S ELEVATION: 7-bay, with end bays slightly set back. W end bay tripartite windows, as on curved E end bay linking to front. Remaining 5 bays all 2-pane sash and case, treated as single windows on front. Wallhead chimneystack between 2 eastmost of these bays and ridge stack near centre. Modern shop fronts at ground.
N ELEVATION: 6-bay, with curved E end bay linking to front then 2 single + bipartite + single + bipartite windows in plan, 3 ridge chimneystacks. Slate roof, platformed to W end.
