Description

Built circa 1840. Former school; single storey, T-plan, with

5-bay S elevation, flanks and rear wing each 2 bays. Grey

stugged ashlar with polished dressings; windows all 24-pane

sashes. S elevation: central panelled 2-leaf door, decorative rectangular fanlight, Roman Doric-columned doorpiece;

cornice and blocking course. Piended roof, with graded

slates.

Statement of Interest

B group with Schoolhouse. (Item 27). School master's house

and salary endowed by Mrs Crichton of Friars Carse (d.1838).
