Description

1881. 4-storey corner tenement with shops at ground. Cream sandstone polished ashlar. Cornice above shopfronts; cill courses to 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor windows; moulded architraves and cornices to 1st and 2nd floor windows; deep cornice.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay; consoled cornices to 1st floor windows; single windows to all floors to central bay and bay to outer left; bipartite windows to all floors in bay to outer right.

ANGLE (NW) BAY: full-height, 3-light canted bay window; cast-iron finial to polygonal roof above.

N ELEVATION: 2-bay; single windows to all floors in both bays; consoled cornices to 1st floor windows; pediment with ball finial to parapet.

Predominantly plate glass, timber, sash and case windows; some modern pivot windows. Grey slate roof; rendered and coped wallhead stacks to N; coursed ridge stack to S.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.
