Description

Francis and William Mackison circa 1863. Mid Victorian
2-storey coursed rubble and raised quoins corner block.
Clarendon Place frontage 2-window (1 arched, 1 narrow)
between end canted bays asymmetrically placed round-arched
and pilastered doorpiece with elaborate consoles and cornice,
Abercromby Place frontage, 3-window similar centre doorpiece
and arched window above. Single-storey wing with V-fronted
bay. Slated, platformed roof.

Statement of Interest

Part of King's Park Conservation Area group. A number of

houses are not of great intrinsic merit but have been listed

for continuity of grouping; taken as a whole the area forms

an outstanding early to late Victorian villa development with

remarkably few later instrusions
