Description

A. Maitland and Sons, 1897. French Renaissance detail. 3
storey, 3 bay shops and dwelling over. Tooled ashlar, ashlar
dressings. Centre doors with boldly consoled entablature
supporting blind balcony at 1st floor; original flanking
shop fronts to ground floor; cornice over; moulded cill
band to 1st floor windows. 3 pilastered bays 1st floor;
paired segmental headed windows in wide outer bays, single
window centre, all with original glazing. Decorative frieze
and cornice over 1st floor; 3 mullioned and transomed windows
2nd floor rising through eaves, with pedimented heads and
elaborately detailed at centre. Heavy outer ball finials;
corniced end stacks; slate roof.
