Early 19th century, 2-storey, 3-bay house. Heavily pointed
rubble, rendered margins. Centre entrance with panelled door;
4-pane glazing; differing end stacks; asbestos slate roof.
Rubble screen wall to SE. Caithness slab front garden
retaining wall.
Plaque on front of house reads; "Robert Dick, Geologist and
Botanist lived her 1830-1866, earning his daily bread by
his hard work, obliged to read and study by night and yet
able to instruct the Director General o the Geographical
Society". Robert Dick was a Thurso baker. He corresponded
with Hugh Miller of Cromarty.
