Description

Probably early 19th century. Single-span, segmental-arched road bridge, situated immediately to N of Clock Mill (see separate listing). Rubble, with semi-circular coping.

Statement of Interest

An important and integral part of the industrial heritage, of Tillicoultry, this bridge is situated close to Clock Mill and is likely to date from the same construction time as the Mill. It provided a link over the Tillicoultry Burn for mills constructed directly to the North. This area of Tillicoultry had 8 cotton mills in the mid 19th century, all of which were powered by the fast running Tillicoultry Burn and provided wealth for the town.
