1801-14 Thomas Telford, engineer. 300 ft. long pier with parapet wall on N.E. side and stair on S.W. side near the end. Constructed of large stones built open-jointed. Iron mooring-posts.

Designed by Telford for the British Fishermens Society. (Adjoining sea-wall supporting Main St. is of similar construction and probably of the same date).
