Description

Circa 1820. Pair of 2-storey, 2-bay, rectangular-plan, gabled houses. Coursed Caithness stone slabs, regular fenestration, irregular to rear. Blind gable end to E, abutting 28 to W.

NO 26: N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: door to right.

NO 27: N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: door to left.

INTERIORS: not seen 2001.

Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slates. Skews, coped gable stacks, cast-iron rainwater goods.

The Group listing is in recognition of the exceptional group value of these buildings as the core of Thomas Telford's 1809 scheme for the new town plan of Pulteneytown for the British Fisheries Society.
