Later 19th century with later alterations. Sited to N of house and to E of bridge. Single storey with attic, 9-bay, symmetrical group of 3 cottages, largely unaltered and of traditional type. Stugged squared and snecked sandstone with droved ashlar dressings. Window in each outer bay, of principal (SW) elevation with window in attic breaking eaves. Boarded door with 2-pane rectangular fanlight above to penultimate bays and to centre. 2-bay groups flanking centre gabled and with windows to ground and 1st floor of each. Harled single storey addition to rear of each cottage. 8-pane timer sash and case windows to principal elevation. Slate roof. Brick mutual stacks and wallheads.
The kennels are utilised by the Berwickshire Hunt, 1995. Buildings appear upon the site of the steading and kennels in 1797, and possibly in 1771. In 1857, the plan of the group was quite different from now in that the courtyard was only a L-plan (SW and NW ranges). The house appears to have been built, although it may well have undergone reconstruction or heavy alterations in subsequent years. The 2nd edition OS reveals the group as found today.
