Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical house of rectangular plan with apsidal stair tower projecting to rear. Stugged ashlar SW (principal) elevation, droved at arrises, stugged coursed rubble to NW and NE elevations. Roughcast SE elevation. Projecting cills to windows at front and rear elevations. Classical stone doorpiece comprising pilasters with capitals and bases, corniced and blocking course above; deep set door; regular fenestration.

NE (REAR) ELEVATION: 3 bays with apsidal stair tower offset to right of centre. Small vertically-boarded addition in re-entrant to left, cantilevered out at 1st floor.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. 4-panel, 2-leaf flush-beaded entrance doors, 2-panel inner door with 2-pane glazed upper. Grey slate roof, continued over stair tower, with cast-iron gutters and downpipes. Roughcast, coped, 4-flue apex stacks with circular cans.

OUTBUILDING: random rubble lean-to coal cellars adjacent to SE elevation with vertically-boarded timber doors and grey slate mono-pitch roof.

BOUNDARY WALLS: random rubble walls to Lorne and Lowland Church (see separate listing) adjoining NW elevation. Stone cope with wrought-iron railings to garden at rear.
