Description

James McLachlan, 1930. 3-storey and attic 5-bay classical office with shop at ground, projecting from building line of street. Polished cream sandstone; modern granite facing at ground. Windows closely spaced, corniced at 1st floor. Heavy mutuled cornice; balustraded parapet with 3 corniced timber dormers behind, outer ones bipartite. Single bay returns.

Timber sash and case 12-pane windows; stone stacks; mansard roof, grey slates.

INTERIOR: modernised retail space at ground and to rear.

Statement of Interest

Built for Crawfords the caterers; originally had fine interior with murals by Robert Burn.
