Description

Late 18th century with subsequent additions and alterations. 3-storey corner block incorporating early mews buildings; shops at ground, public bar at 1st floor, later 3rd storey function room for adjoining Cafe Royal (see separate listing). Rendered (3rd storey lined).

W ELEVATION: irregular 5-bay. At ground, cafe to left, access to 1st floor at centre, shop window to right. Moulded ashlar architraves at 1st floor. Raised wallhead at 2nd floor.

S ELEVATION: irregular 6-bay. 2 shops at ground. 2nd floor blank with 1 window to right.

Timber sash and case 4-pane and plate glass windows. Piended roof; grey slates; truncated wallhead stack.

INTERIOR: much altered; Cafe Royal function room at 2nd floor (see separate listing).
