Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan house with piend-roofed bay to outer right. Harled and lime-washed with polished stone margins, base course, quoin strips.

S (MAIN) ELEVATION: 3 symmetrical bays; flat-roofed porch at centre, 2-leaf door with radiating fanlight, windows symmetrically disposed to right and left. Piend-roofed, slate-hung dormers to right and left with small triangular dormer at centre. Lower piend-roofed bay recessed to outer right, windows symmetrically disposed.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: on falling ground to W. 5 near-symmetrical bays. Broad 3-bay gable breaking eaves at centre, windows at ground, 1st floor to centre and left, single window to right at ground, attic window off-centre to left at gablehead. Half-glazed door to outer right, window above; windows symmetrically disposed in bays to outer left; blank wall of recessed block to outer left.

W ELEVATION: broad gable, French door at ground to right, long window at 1st floor to outer left, smaller window to right; small attic window off-centre to right of gablehead.

E ELEVATION: gable with lower piend-roofed block, lean-to porch at ground.

12-pane timber sash and case windows; grey slate roof, raised ashlar skews; coped apex stacks, square cans.

INTERIOR: stone flagged stair hall, coved at E end; stone stair, simple balusters; heavy panelled doors, simple cornices.

GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALL: rubble and harled boundary wall; drum piers with dome caps.
