Mid 19th century with later additions and alterations. 2-storey with attic, 3-bay tenement with shop at ground, at end of terrace. Squared and snecked whinstone with raised polished ashlar margins, droved ashlar tails; whinstone rubble to SW elevation with droved ashlar dressings to NW end, timber lintels to SE end; whinstone rubble to rear. Base course; fascia and cornice above between ground and 1st floor; eaves course; flush painted ashlar long and short quoins; painted margins.
NW (WEST PORT) ELEVATION: 19th century or possibly early 20th century shop front at ground with modern boarded fascia above. Partly-glazed 2-leaf door to centre, plate glass fanlight. 2-pane shop windows flanking, with plate glass ingoes to door. Window to each bay of 1st floor, regularly spaced.
SE ELEVATION: 2-storey projection to centre and to left. Single storey addition in bay to right; window at 1st floor.
12-pane timber sash and case windows; modern glazing at 1st floor of bay to right, SE elevation. Slate roof with ashlar coped skews and skewputts. 3-light canted and half-piended dormers to outer bays of NW elevation and to outer right of SE elevation. Ashlar and whinstone coped wallhead stack to SW; whinstone coped with rendered repairs stack to NE.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1996.
There is a passage to SW giving access to the rear of this and Nos 19 and 21 West Port (see separate listing). The site was built upon in 1823.
