Description

Circa 1800 with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay steeply pitched gabled farmhouse. Roughly squared rubble with ashlar dressings (painted red) and brick rear (later repair?). Porch addition to entrance front, piend-roofed, stone, with 2 small windows to front and door on return to right; window above and in flanking bays.

Rear elevation with regular fenestration at 1st floor, irregular at ground. Side gables each with later brick additions, small attic windows high in gablehead.

Timber 12-pane sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Stone gablehead stacks; ashlar coping to skews.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1997.

Statement of Interest

Sited to SE of Hawkhead House Farm which is listed separately. The pitch of the roof would suggest an earlier date than the form of the elevations. Unoccuppied, 1997.
