Description

Andrew Maitland, circa 1875. Gabled rectangular-plan slaughter house with castellated Tudor detailing. Stugged squared and snecked stone with ashlar dressings, harled sides; chamfered arrises to openings.

N (SHORE ROAD) ELEVATION: tall, staggered gable to street, corbel table at wallhead, advanced panel to centre of carriage entrance at ground and louvred, pedimented loft door above, ball finial to apex; blank, lower bays flanking with pilaster quoins bearing corbelled panelled dies with cushion bases to ball finials. Screen wall flanking to right, corbel course to wallhead, blocked arrowslit detail and terminating pilaster with corbelled square die and pyramidal cap.

Gablet coped skews with gablet skewputts to centre panel. Grey slates.

Statement of Interest
