Early 19th century. Harl-pointed, red rubble sandstone dog-leg quay with raised rubble outer parapet; slim cast-iron bollards; extensive repairs.
Retains a degree of architectural interest despite extensive repairs. This was among many small ports and harbours that existed around the shores of Bute - others including those at Straad, Port Bannatyne, Kerrycroy and Kilmichael. The pier to the SE dates from the 1880s and a period of holiday boom.
