Description

Earlier 19th century. Symmetrical single storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan coach-house. Whitewashed rubble sandstone to front; harl-pointed rubble sandstone to sides and rear. Tooled rubble quoins; tooled long and short surrounds to openings (round- and pointed-arched).

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: pointed-arched entrance centred at ground; grilled fanlight; flanking stylised cruciform gunloops. 2-leaf boarded timber doors set in round-arched surrounds in bays to outer left and right.

Graded grey slate piended roof; lead flashings. Coped wallhead stack at rear; single can.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

Statement of Interest

Of particular note are the round- and pointed-arched openings, boarded timber doors and the cruciform gunloops. Forms part of the Woodend Estate with the nearby Woodend House, cottages, gatelodge and entrance gateway - see separate list entries.
