Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay T-plan plain symmetrical house. Harl at ground, render at 1st floor. Base course; band course; strip margins at ground floor only; painted margins to openings, plain at ground floor, architraved at 1st floor.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: replacement timber door at centre; flanking single windows at ground. Regular fenestration at 1st floor.

Replacement timber sash and case windows, 4-pane at ground floor, 9-pane at 1st floor. Grey slate roof; coped gablehead stack to outer left.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

Statement of Interest

The houses in Hanover Street are described by W McIlwraith in 1875 as "... nearly all two storeys, plain, and substantial."
