Description

Late 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3 bay gabled cottage with decorative timber details. Squared and snecked sandstone rubble with polished ashlar dressings. Overhanging eaves.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorway at centre; panelled timber door; raggle of former porch. 3 light canted window in bay to left; bipartite window in bay to right; decorative timber bargeboarding to stone gabled dormerheads, bipartite to left.

E AND W ELEVATIONS: decorative bracketed bargeboarding to gableheads.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: irregular disposition and size of windows; catslide roof to attic rooms; margin panes to stair window.

Timber sash and case windows with small pane glazing to upper sashes. Grey slate roof; decorative terracotta ridging and cans; corniced gablehead stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALL: stepped boundary wall with rounded coping, terminating in gatepier to E of cottage.
