David Forbes Smith, 1908. Single storey, 27 bay (grouped 3-6-9-6-3), U-plan Wrenaissance school with later additions to rear not included in this listing. Ashlar with coursed rubble to rear. Deep base course and eaves cornice. Architraved surrounds; stone mullions.
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: gambrel-roofed centre block of 9 bays with segmental-headed, keystoned window and flanking pilasters to centre flanked by windows, scroll-mouldings at wallhead and further pilasters breaking eaves line; 3 windows to right and to left: small horizontal dormer windows flank dominant polygonal, louvered and domed ridge ventilator at centre. Recessed bays to right with 5 windows and broad door to outer right 'BOYS' entrance; these 5 bays mirrored to left but with 'GIRLS' over door. Outer bays slightly advanced and piended, with tripartite window to centre below stepped wallhead with cartouche, flanking windows and dividing pilasters.
E ELEVATION: 9 bays with door to bay 4 and windows to remaining bays. Truncated ridge ventilator(?) over bay 4.
W ELEVATION: 7 windows to left and 4 windows to right in lower block.
S ELEVATION: symmetrical fenestration with advanced, piended block to centre.
Small-pane glazing patterns in top-opening windows throughout. Grey slates. Cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.
INTERIOR: centre corridor with top-lit, open-beam ceiling and segmental-headed openings. Glazed and coloured ceramic-tiled dadoes retained.
