Description

Alexander Tod, early 20th century. Single storey, piend-roofed shop (see Notes) with full-width tiled porch on rustic timber piers. Harled with stone margins.

NW ELEVATION: door to left of centre with canted window to outer left, window in bay to right and further door beyond to outer right.

NE AND SW: window to each elevation, that to NE blocked.

Plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows. Pantiles with slate eaves easing course.

Statement of Interest

Property of Wemyss Estate Trustees. The tramway connecting towns in the parishes of Wemyss and Scoonie was the idea of

Mr RGE Wemyss. It was opened in August 1906 with this carshed one of the halts along the line which ran from Durie Street, Leven to Gallatown, Kirkcaldy. The tramcars, known locally as 'mustard boxes', stopped in 1931. Listed for its historic interest and group value.
