Description

Early 19th century. 2 adjoining houses in close to rear of 92 High Street. 2 storeys, rubble stone and harling, plain margins.

S ELEVATION: house to right; 2 bays, door to right at ground, bays to left blocked. House to left; 2 bays, 1 blocked opening to right at ground, 1 tall window to left at 1st.

E ELEVATION: blank gable end, recent single storey building adjoining.

W ELEVATION: adjoining building not included in current listing.

N ELEVATION (in 90 High Street close): white painted harl. House to left; 2 bays, door to right at ground. House to right; single bay to left, adjoining building to right not included in current listing.

Timber sash and case windows. Roof not seen.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

Statement of Interest

Part of the 92 and 94 High Street and close B Group. These properties are included as the oldest in the two closes (Nos 90 and 94) that survive in a relatively unaltered state. The former stables/print works to Western Road, also entered from the close of 94 High Street, are not included in this listing.
