Earlier 19th century with alterations. 2-storey and attic; rectangular-plan public house with curved entrance bay to corner of Queen Anne Street and Douglas Street; prominent wallhead stack with curved pediment-like shoulders to Queen Anne Street. Coursed dressed painted stone with painted ashlar dressings. Base course to Douglas Street; band course above fascia board; eaves band. Projecting cills to windows.

E (DOUGLAS STREET) ELEVATION: 5 bays. Former entrances or display windows (each now with standard window) to central and outer right bays; both with flanking pilasters supporting corniced entablature (stepped out slightly from fascia board). Regular fenestration; windows blocked to outer left bay of ground floor and 2 outer right bays of 1st floor. Pair of piended polygonal dormer windows; that to right has large modern boxed extension.

N (QUEEN ANNE STREET) ELEVATION: 4 bays. Entrances (possibly inserted) to curved bay to outer left and outer right bay; 2-leaf panelled timber doors set back with rectangular fanlights. Small blocked window to right of entrance to outer right; pair of windows (one narrow) to bay to left. Otherwise regular fenestration. Piended polygonal dormer window to right of wallhead stack.

Mainly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Piended grey slate roof. Coped wallhead stack with curved pediment-like shoulders to Queen Anne Street elevation (cans missing).

INTERIOR: late 20th century open-plan public house interior to ground floor.

An earlier 19th century building with an unusually intact ground floor public house frontage.
