Late 19th century. 3-bay single storey and attic house. Whitewashed with painted stone margins, and stone-fronted dormers; rendered at SW elevation. Crowstepped gable to SW, with beaked skewputts.
SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: architraved doorpiece centred at ground, comprising modern 15-pane glazed door, with 3-pane rectangular fanlight, surmounted by blank tooled tablet; windows in remaining bays at ground; stone-fronted rectangular dormers with slated sides in bays at attic, dormer at centre crowstepped with beaked skewputts and ball finial, dormers to left and right with coped skews. Later addition to right comprising pair of windows at ground, window to right in part-infilled doorway; stone-fronted cat-slide dormerhead with slated sides, breaking eaves at attic.
SW ELEVATION: predominantly blank gable, with window to left at ground.
NW (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen, 1999.
NE ELEVATION: obscured by later slated lean-to addition.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1999.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Ridge and gablehead stacks; corniced and coped, with decorative octagonal cans.
BOUNDARY WALL AND GATE: coped, lined cement wall to right at principal elevation, swept down to opening, with 2-leaf vertically-boarded timber vehicular gate; coped, rendered wall to outer right, rounded at corner, and continued alongside property to N.
Traditional single storey cottage, built to serve the nursery established around Preston Cross.
