Earlier 19th century with later additions. 2-storey, linear range; arched carriageway and cottage to NW of Broomhead House. Rubble honey coloured sandstone to cottage ground floor; predominantly rendered to rear; stugged grey sandstone elsewhere; raised margins at windows, quoins and eaves course.
SE (PRINCIPAL ELEVATION): bricked up window to far left; door to right. Elliptical arch to carriageway; ashlar voussoirs; plain keystone. 2 tiers of dove flightholes above arch; projecting cills. Cottage to right; central door; flanking ground floor windows; 2 1st floor dormer windows centred above. Cottage to far right; central door; flanking ground floor windows; replacement single horizontal window above. Window to right; wing at right angles connects house to mews; window to far right. Decorative ashlar cornice and finials to dormer windows and archway.
SW ELEVATION: plain gable wall.
NW ELEVATION: rear door to cottage; replacement steps lead up to door. Window to left.
NE ELEVATION: covered by vegetation.
Replacement fenestration; rooflights to far right at front; further rooflights to rear. Piended, slate roof; lead flashing. Half-piended to NW. Corniced ridge stack to right of arch; polygonal clay can. 2 tall, corniced ridge stacks to cottages, partially rendered central stack; 4 polygonal clay cans.
INTERIOR: not seen, 2000.
GATEPIERS: wall from SW gable of mews runs southwards; ashlar coping; terminating chamfered gatepier; pyramidal ashlar coping stone; accompanying pier to right. Low wall with railing behind right pier terminates in smaller similar pier.
B-Group with Broomhead House. The 2 staff mews cottages have been converted into one house. A former adjacent range running N-S to the W of the mews is depicted on the 1st Edition OS map. As with Broomhead House, the honey coloured sandstone indicates the earlier build.
