18th and 19th centuries. Coped and stepped random rubble boundary wall (approximately 510 metres long) incorporating (early) fabric of earlier town wall (seen at lower level). Some later 19th century outbuildings incorporated into wall fabric towards E section of wall; a number of timber boarded doorways at irregular intervals.
This section of town wall lies along the original boundary which defined the early rigs to the S of Aberlady?s main road. It is of local significance as it provides clear evidence of the boundary for the early town, while also contributing to the appearance of the local streetscape.
